John Danby Racing has released pictures of their new Japanese sportscar in time for this season’s final Britcar round at Brands Hatch on November 7. The JDR Honda NSX was built for David Fenn, owner and Britcar race winner, and was tested at Snetterton in Norfolk last Friday with driver James Barclay at the wheel.
“The uniqueness and advanced technology involved in this project presented new challenges and we are pleased to debut this exciting car at the last event of the 2009 season,” said John Danby, Team Principal.
The car includes innovative engine control and data-logging capabilities including GPS, fly by wire and live video feed. Other high specifications like dampers and brakes were also added.
Motoring journalist Vicki Butler-Henderson will drive the debut race alongside John Danby Racing regular James Barclay in the daytime Production race. Car owner and Britcar regular David Fenn will then drive the NSX in the evening GT race alongside Barclay.
“We are excited with the potential of the NSX following our test program and look forward to a solid debut performance,” said John Danby.
Just in case you didn’t know, Britcar is an Endurance Motor Racing series formed in 1997, as a result of a discussion in a Nürburgring bar between Willie Moore and James Tucker. The legend has it that James Tucker and John Veness formed the organizing European Endurance & Racing Club with a £10 note found on the ground. Their purpose was the re-introduction of a 24-Hour Race in Britain.
