Jay Leno Checks Out Underground GT-R Scene in Tokyo

While on his tour of Japan, the denim chin checks out the underground night scene in the Tokyo, which has served as inspiration for many racing games and movies.
Jay Leno gets introduced to the Nissan GT-R scene by Road & Track Editor Sam Mitani. This car is the pride of Japan’s engineering. It’s taken on the best the western world has to through at it and won... on a budget.

But of course, the GT-R is getting more and more expensive with every model year, and Mitani admits some of his friends are eating cheap ramen noodles every night just to afford being behind the wheel of this desirable car.

You have to admit that driving at night, through tunnels and through downtown Tokyo is pretty cool.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
