The sportscar industry today is pretty much going towards the big, heavy and overpowered vehicles, packed with technology to keep it on the road and make your driving experience feel like you are playing a video game.

The original car was built by an English gentleman and it was powered by an Audi TT engine. This however, was modified to accommodate a 400 hp Corvette V8 engine bolted to a Porsche G50 transaxle gearbox.
As Jay said, all you have here is a striped out Corvette, without the additional gizmos and unnecessary body panels. The car is built around an aluminum spaceframe chassis, with lots of GM parts and composite body panels. The total weight of the car is about 1,900 pounds (861 kg), which makes it go like a bullet.
