We all know that last year’s tragic earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan disrupted not only people’s lives, but also Japanese car production. But, Japan being Japan, they have recovered as if nothing had ever happened.
According to Japanese Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), the entire production of cars, trucks and buses in Japan has reached 799,474 units in total. This represents a rise of 174%, compared to April of last year, and the 7th consecutive monthly increase.

When it comes to car sales, figures so far in the year show a increase of 93.7%, which equates to 359,631 vehicles bought by Japanese consumers. In addition, with 402,389 vehicles exported, the figures show a massive increase, wait for it, 219.2%.

With all major manufacturers announcing production increases, it’s safe to say that Japan has definitely fully recovered from last year’s March disaster and things are looking up for their auto industry.
