Jaguar has stunned us with the C-X16, introducing a concept that previews its future sports car, a vehicle that will be slotted below the XK range. Until the concept makes its debut at next week's Frankfurt Auto Show, we are inviting you to enjoy it using the video above.
We'll remind you that we are talking about a 2-seater that previews Jaguar's future design language, using the special materials the British carmaker has accustomed us with for the interior, as well as adding new technologies, such as a customizable instrument panel.
As for what's under the skin, we get a new front-mounted supercharged 3.0-liter V6 powerplant that is based on the company's AJ-V8 engine family, delivering 375 hp and a peak torque of 332 lb-ft (450 Nm), as well as a KERS-like system which recharges the lithium-ion battery pack and provides a temporary boost of 94 hp and 173 lb-ft (234 Nm) of torque.
The performance figures are pretty impressive, as we get a 0 to 60 mpg time of 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h).
