Fiat Group’s CEO sees a slowdown for the carmaking business in Europe, but the Italian government doesn’t seem to have gotten the message. You see, the Old Continent is gripped by fear of a fresh recession right now. Greece and its debt are the biggest problem right now, but Spain has unemployment and Italy… a bit of everything really.
However, according to The Telegraph, the Italian Ministry of Defense didn’t get that memo, because they’ve just bought 19 brand spanking new Maserati Quattroporte limousines for government officials. They don’t run on electricity, they aren’t good in the city and they won’t have much resale value if Italy goes under next.

“What’s the problem? Maseratis are Italian and they cost less than their German equivalents," defense minister, Ingazio La Russa.

Admit it, that’s the most Italian thing you’ve heard all week!
