The VW Group has the ambition to become the world’s No. 1 automaker (the company wants to sell ten million cars per year by 2018), so every one of its brands has to push the development pedal hard. Let’s zoom in on Skoda: the company wants to expand its activities in the SUV/crossover area.
Thus, in the course of the next five years, the Czech automotive producers will introduce two new crossovers/MPVs, as well as two new SUVs, as Car Magazine writes.
The two aforementioned crossovers/MPVs will replace the Roomster and will come with better defined personalities. The first should arrive in 2014 and be inspired by the VW Touran, while the other one will be significantly larger, being similar to the VW Sharan and set to be launched in 2016.
As for Skoda’s SUV offensive, the company will ditch the Yeti and introduce two more imposing vehicles. The first, which will be close to the Tiguan, will arrive in 2015, while a larger seven-seater SUV should be launched in 2016.
