The Euro NCAP has recently released a new batch of crash test results and it is now time to focus on the Isuzu D-Max, a pickup that received a four-star safety rating. The D-Max comes with an 83 percent rating for adult occupant protection, 67 percent for child occupant protection, 51 percent for pedestrian protection and 71 percent for safety assist.
In the frontal impact crash test, dummy readings showed marginal protection for the driver’s chest, knees and lower legs. As for the side impact test, the car scored maximum points, while the front seats and head restraints offered good protection against whiplash injuries in a rear-end crash.
When it came to child occupants, the car only offered adequate protection for both frontal and side impact tests - 18 month child. However, the D-Max went down to poor protection for the chest of a three-year old.
