Mercedes-AMG did a wonderful job with the previous generation GT, which was a true Porsche 911 fighter with V8 firepower across the range, albeit in different outputs.
In its most agile form, which brought back the Black Series moniker, the 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 was good for 720 horsepower (730 ps/537 kW) and 590 pound-feet (800 Nm) of torque. A seven-speed auto 'box delivered the thrust to the rear axle, enabling the car to push to 62 miles an hour (100 kph) in 3.2 seconds and all the way up to 202 mph (325 kph).

The normal Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series was already on the rare side of the segment when it rolled out, yet the Affalterbach brand expanded the offering with the P One Edition. This model was only available to customers who reserved a Mercedes-AMG One slot, hence part of its name, featuring an F1-inspired livery on the outside, some upgrades in the cabin, and the same lump powering the regular one.

Only 235 units of the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series P One Edition (jeez, that's a long name!) were built and it understood that 24 of them made their way to the United States initially. For such a rare beast, we've seen quite a few of them listed for grabs over the years (it premiered in mid-2020). Now, that list has grown to include the pictured example, which features a silver finish gradually turning black at the rear, complete with the typical stars, and a black interior with turquoise accents.

The reason behind its perfect shine everywhere you look, be it the exterior, cabin or under the hood, is that it has only a few miles under its belt. At the time of cataloguing, the odometer read just under 157 miles (253 km), so it is basically a brand-new ride that probably still retains some of that new car smell. It came to life in 2021, this rare supercar is about to hit the auction block at the RMSothebys event hosted in Miami, Florida, on March 1-2, and it is certainly one of the show's stars.

When the gavel will have hit the table, the auction house estimates the highest bid to be at anywhere between $550,000 to $700,000, which puts it out of reach for most petrolheads. In fact, if it indeed changes hands for the aforementioned sum, then it will be about as valuable as a brand-new Lamborghini Revuelto. The Italian machine features an electrified V12 with over 1,001 brake horsepower, takes 2.5 seconds to 62 mph, and has a 217 mph or 350 kph top speed.

So, if you had that kind of cash at hand, would you get this Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series P One Edition or a Lamborghini Revuelto? The answer is kind of obvious, as it is the latter that we'd drive home in a heartbeat.
