The 2013 Isle of Man TT will bring a lot of excitement as it will see a lot of new presences and interesting feats, such as the first Chinese bike, Nortons racing again and so on. But for the moment it's all about a much anticipated debut: former Irish SuperBike Champion Derek Sheils will be riding for CD Racing.
Sheils is 30 and has seen his fair hare of fast-paced riding and he has also seen the Mountain Course before in the 2009 Manx Grand Prix Newcomers Race on a standard spec 675cc Triumph, lapping at more than 112 mph (180.2 km/h) to the second position.
Isle of Man Government TT and Motorsport Manager Paul Phillips added that Sheils was "hunted" for quite some years, because everyone though he'd be a great addition to the race, thanks to his proven and consistent, street-racing skills.
Derek Sheils will ride a Kawasaki ZX-10R in the Dainese Superbike, Royal London 360 Superstock and PokerStars Senior races.
