The fact that Infiniti wants to develop a flagship vehicle to rival with the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 7 Series is no longer a mystery, but last time we wrote about it the company said it could arrive in... 2020.
Seven years is a long way off and we weren’t expecting to hear about it too soon, but a sketch that surfaced the web recently via Autoblog could mean that Infiniti’s flagship vehicle could arrive sooner than expected. Unfortunately, no details have been revealed yet.
As for the design of this luxury sedan, the styling is clearly related to the company’s current language (see the large front grille, apron and headlights), while the stretched wheelbase indicates we’re indeed looking at Infiniti’s future top-of-the-line vehicle. The sketch is signed by Alfonso Albaisa, the automaker’s recently-appointed executive design director, which makes us think it’s no hoax.
Even though the car has yet to receive a name, which is no surprise since it doesn’t exist, Autoblog speculates that it could arrive under the Q80 or Q90 moniker.
