Infinitely Cool Artsy Recycling Ideas from Brauchi's Bikes

There is a very fine line between junk and art, and some of the most creative minds will be able to turn what looks just a pile of dirty scrap into nice household items with an unbelievably strong "cool factor". It's the case of Lars Justinger, the man behind the German custom shop Brauchi's Bikes and author of the amazing Jagdbobber.

When tearing a bike engine or a gearbox down, you get a ton of cog wheels, shafts and whatnot, all dirty and looking nothing like something usable any longer. Now, that may be true if you're the Average Joe - Lars however isn't and after cleaning these dead metal parts, has started putting them together in various ways.

Adding some minor welding, which can also be replaced with some pro-grade adhesive as well, he managed to create new object which not only look very nice, but are also functional: some of the nicest candle-holders we saw in months, if not years.

Looking at them, we just wonder how simple everything is, in fact, and all that was missing was just seeing things from a different perspective. Now, we just know you'll go in search of “scrapyard jewels”... and that's good, because we're going “hunting”, too.
