Hyundai Will Promote Genesis Coupe Commercial During Super Bowl

Here's another automaker who has no intention of being a money grubber when it comes to advertising during the next Super Bowl.

And why would Hyundai Motor America refrain from doing this since they tout the Genesis Coupe as being their “most dynamic performance car ever”?

Certainly such a car deserves special treat and Hyundai is ready to offer what's best in the advertising world for its new-born. That's why, it will air not one, but two 30-second spots on ABC during the broadcast of Super Bowl 2009, on February 1 and during the Academy Awards, on February 22.

The two commercials will share the same theme “The Epic Lap”, but each of them will offer a different perspective emphasizing both the vehicle's
design and its track-worthy performance.

But the cherry on the cake is represented by the car's dance on the music played by Grammy Award-winning Cellist Yo-Yo Ma. No kidding! Does it know how to waltz?! We''re going to see that but until then, let's not ignore the second member of the cast. Its dancing partner will be no one else than Rhys Millen, a Pike's Peak world record holder, Formula-D champion and professional driver. The filming process lasted for three days and the only item that needed to be replaced on the sportscar was a set of tires.

"So many elements come together in these advertisements that showcase the Genesis Coupe's design and performance that we know it will cast a halo over the entire brand," claimed Joel Ewanick, vice president of Marketing, Hyundai Motor America.

"We have captured the spirit of Genesis Coupe in 'The Epic Lap,'" he added.

The Genesis Coupe lineup consists of a 30-mpg 2.0-liter model with a low-pressure intercooled four-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 210 horsepower and a 3.8-liter V6 track model with 306 horsepower and massive Brembo brakes.
