Targeting capable workhorses such as the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Renault Master, Hyundai is almost ready to unleash the H350 commercial van. The two sketches provided by the South Korean manufacturer give us a glimpse about how the panel van variant will look like, but two other body styles will follow: a flatbed truck and a utilitarian passenger bus.
Most of its segment competitors, including Ford's Transit, offer at least three versatile body styles, so Hyundai engineers have clearly paid attention to how the large commercial van segment rolls in Europe. South Korea's largest automaker will be revealing the H350 on September 24th at the IAA Commercial Vehicles 2014 in Hannover, Germany.
Not much is known about the technical side of the H350 at the present moment, but Hyundai informs that the light commercial vehicle is underpinned by a flexible platform. Moreover, the automaker is adamant that the new model will be both efficient and practical, but will boast with appealing styling cues such as the hexagonal front grille flanked by cool headlights and LED daytime running lights.
The black plastic side moldings running down the flanks of the vehicle all the way to the rear also incorporate the sliding side-door on the driver's side. In terms of practicality, Hyundai says the H350 will provide up to 1.4 tons payload and a max towing capacity of 2.5 tons. Last but not least, the H350 will be manufactured in an unspecified location in Europe by Karsan Otomotiv Sanayil ve Ticaret A.S, a long-term commercial vehicle production partner of Hyundai headquartered in Turkey.
