Actor Chris Pratt hit the jackpot when he was casted in the lead role of Peter Quill in Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy. But to prove he didn’t forget where he came from, the 35-year old actor recently posted an old image of him posing next to a cheap van he used to live in back when he was homeless.
It’s always funny to find out that your favorite actor or singer actually used to be so poor he couldn’t even afford a place to live in. Not because homeless people are funny, but because these celebrities obviously represent a living example that every human being on this planet could overcome his condition with a lot of work and a little bit of luck.
From waiting tables at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company restaurant in Maui, Hawaii, to winning the CinemaCon Award for Breakthrough Performer, for his highly anticipated work in Guardians of the Galaxy, this actor went a long way. And Chris Pratt is among the few celebrities out there that actually like to show their fans it’s important you never forget where you started from. He posted the image of his old van quoting “Can't believe I found this picture!!! That is the van I lived in!!! In my hand is the script for the movie that got me out of Maui. Crazy.”
But Pratt is far from being the only celebrity who initially lived in a car. When Jim Carrey was just a teenager, his entire family took janitorial jobs and lived out of a Volkswagen camper. David Letterman is also part of this unique “club,” considering he lived out of a red 1973 Chevy pickup truck before making it big.
