Right now, Chevrolet has a very fresh lineup – at least as far as GM's brands are concerned – but that's not just because it dropped some of its older nameplates like the Camaro or is set to retire others like the Malibu mid-size sedan.
Instead, Chevy worked hard to update the vast majority of its crossovers, SUVs, and trucks – like the all-new 2025 Equinox, 2024 Traverse, or the refreshed 2025 Tahoe and Suburban. Finally, there's also a true all-electric family worth considering for your next acquisition – consisting of the upcoming $35k Equinox EV, the larger Blazer EV, and the Chevy Silverado EV RST.
Soon, there will also be the next-generation Bolt EV or EUV and let us not forget about the Silverado EV WT. However, some people might still feel that's not enough – including from across the imaginative realm of digital car content creators. More precisely, Nikita Chuicko, the virtual artist better known as kelsonik on social media, thinks that now is the right CGI time to make the Silverado EV a hulking SUV!
Seriously, the pixel master that usually dreams of CGI 'Shadow Line' enhancements or aftermarket wheels for current models has taken a swing at coming up with something entirely new and never seen before – a sort of all-electric Suburban, if anyone wanted an alternative. That's clearly a step in the GMC Hummer EV SUV direction and would be just another behemoth if ever created in the real world.
Well, it's not a bad idea – it would have a cavernous rear space for passengers and cargo. Also, the unofficial design project has a dark and menacing all-black appearance that would make 'murdered-out' fans jump with joy, so there's no need for a CGI Shadow Line treatment. On the other hand, the CGI expert considered that a hulking Chevy Silverado EV SUV would also need a couple of oversized aftermarket-style digital wheels to further look the part.
So, what do you think? Is Chevrolet becoming a true EV powerhouse with the upcoming new Bolt, the Equinox EV, Blazer EV, Silverado EV WT, and RST, plus a potential Silverado EV SUV to represent an all-electric alternative for the mighty Suburban? Or have they lost the hype train for EVs and will soon face the brunt of the perceived zero-emissions market slowdown? Also, keep in mind they might not bring to life a Silverado EV SUV as rendered here, but GM's president Mark Reuss did hint recently to the rumor mill that Chevrolet might bring back the iconic Camaro sooner than expected – and as an affordable all-electric pony car with the same $35k starting price as an Equinox EV.
