If you choose to have your 2014 Toyota Tundra with a 4x4 transmission, it will come equipped with and on demand 4 wheel drive selector to adapt the power according to the surface you are driving.
The knob is situated on the central console stack towards its left and the system is very easy to use. Here are its three functions:

- 2WD - the 2 wheel drive is recommended for normal roads and when not towing anything.
- 4H - 4 wheel drive Hi is recommended for slippery surfaces and light off-road driving. To engage it, drop your speed below 62 mph and turn the knob to select 4H.
- 4L - 4 wheel drive Low it’s used for hard off-roading and sandy surfaces. To engage it, you need to fully stop the Tundra, put it in Neutral and then press and turn the knob to select 4L.
