Engine oil is very important for the engine to work properly, as it lubricates moving components, cools it and cleans it. So you have to change it on a regular basis to extent your engine’s life cycle.
Doing it on a Toyota Yaris is the same as doing it on any other Toyota or vehicle in general, but the video bellow will provide you with the location of certain plugs and filling holes for the model. The steps are the same:
  • Heat up the engine until it reaches it’s normal functioning temperature so that the oil will flow better
  • Turn the engine off
  • Open the hood and remove the oil filling cap
  • Get underneath the car and unscrew the oil pan plug to flush the oil out (use a catch pan and dispose it properly)
  • Wait until all the oil in the engine has drained out. You can replace the oil filter in the meantime
  • Screw the drain plug back
  • Pour the indicated amount of fresh oil in the engine
  • Close the filling cap.
