We’ve seen earlier how to unlock and start a Lexus RX with a depleted-battery key fob. Now, we’ll show you how to do it on a Lexus IS where it is a bit more tricky.
Let’s assume that you know your key fob has an actual key inside it. So you take it out and discover that there is no keyhole on the IS’ door handle...
That is the tricky part - it’s hidden. You have to stick the key under the triangular shaped door handle trim towards its end (there is a little slot in there) and pry it open. The trimming will pop out revealing the key hole. Insert the key, twist it and the door will unlock.
To start the car, take the key fob and place it as close as you can to the start button, push the brake pedal and use the key fob to actually press the start button.
