A bad spark plug will not ignite the air-fuel mix in the cylinder, resulting a faulty engine run, increased consumption and lowering performance.
So, if you’ve decided to change a faulty spark plug on your Toyota Celica or just replace all of them with aftermarket performance ones, all you need is the correct replacement spark plugs and a socket ratchet with extender. Here are the steps:
- Let the engine cool
- Remove the plastic engine cover. There is a bolt on the right holding it in place
- Remove the four bolts on the coil pack
- Disconnect and remove the four coils
- Unscrew the bolts from the coil rack an remove it
- Using an extender, unscrew the spark plugs and remove them
- Put the new spark plugs in and carefully screw them back without damaging the thread
- Put everything back and start the engine.
