If your 2005-2012 Lexus GS’ key fob decided to stop working suddenly, the problem can be its battery that got depleted.
Replacing it is very simple and you only need a thin screwdriver and the replacement battery. If you don’t know what type it is, you can just proceed and take the old one out to use as a reference when going at the store.

In order to reach the battery, first you’ll have to take out the emergency key stored in the key fob. Yes, even if the key fob’s battery is dead, you can still open and start the car using the hidden key, which you can take out by pressing the little knob on the metallic part.

With the actual key out, you can use its thin end to insert it into the small slot inside the fob and pry it open as in the video bellow. Now just separate the electronic part from the plastic shell and you can see the battery there.
