An interesting and funny encounter between and elk and a couple on a motorcycle took place on the roads of Montana, between Missoula and Ovando. The elk was in rut and found the bike rather appealing, as he not only approached the vehicle, but also chased it down the road.
Since we have no elk experts here, we're still trying to decipher whether the animal constantly sticking its tongue out had something to do with kissing, duck faces or anything like this.
Anyway, skipping the fun part in all this, it looks like the animal was not exactly aware of his species and the danger being in the middle of the road meant. Such behavior is often met with animals being raised by people: they become used with cars, their noise and smell, motorcycles or ATVs and many other things humans use on a daily basis.
Unfortunately, the lack of (natural) fear will put these animals in danger and its advisable that motorists call the local authorities to take them in safer places.
Anyway dude, jump on a bike, c'mon, there surely are nicer partners in those woods...
