Now that the 2015 Honda Fit has finally taken care of the safety aspects, the car can move on to a rather colorful future - Honda plans to make the 2015 Fit its star for the SEMA show.
The automaker has introduced the 2015 Fit SEMA project, with five teams having been selected to play with the car. The list includes Bisimoto Engineering, Kontrabrands, MAD Industries, Spoon Sports USA, Tjin Edition and Kenny Vinces. Each will bring its custom interpretation of the Fit to the show, which is schduled to take place between November 4 and November 7 at the shiny Las Vegas Convention Center.

Those curious about about the work on this, can check Honda’s Tumblr page, where the teams will post upgrades on the Fit Performance Project. Fitness program designation aside, the hashtag associated to this is #ProjectFit.

“What about the good old Civic?” we hear enthusiasts asking. Well, Honda has decided the Civic has grown more mature now and wants to switch the customization focus to the Fit.

To spice up the competition, Honda is preparing an award for the team that gets the most attention from the public. To quantify this, the carmaker will use the HondaLoves Tumblr account, counting the likes and shares each project receives.

"Personalized Honda subcompacts were the foundation of the original import tuner revolution, and the all-new Fit upholds that legacy"  said Jeff Conrad, who leads Honda’s sales and marketing efforts in the US.“ #ProjectFit is a unique, fun way to demonstrate the personalization potential of this great new car."

While some may point out that the Fit isn’t exactly the fun-to-drive kind of vehicle, the SEMA show definetly has what it takes to turn this into a piece of entertainment on wheels, so it’s all... fitting.
