Honda TS-1X CR-Z Coming to 2011 Tokyo Auto Salon

Honda will bring the TS-1X CR-Z test study model made by Honda Access Corporation, the Honda aftermarket parts and accessories specialist, to the Tokyo Auto Show this year. The event will be held from Friday, January 14, to Sunday, January 16, at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan.

Honda Motor Co.’s display will include automobiles and motorcycles, power products, racing vehicles, and other products.

It might not be the Type-R version of the CR-Z everyone wants, but the TS-1X is definitely something interesting. It comes fitted with a range of aggressive accessories, including a full bodykit, new wheels and matte black paint scheme.

The study looks good from the front, with aggressive lines taking things in the right sporty direction, but the rear wing looks strange. In the end, a hybrid is still a hybrid, and it will never go as fast as it looks.

It will be joined under the spotlight by a range of other customized models including another CR-Z, a Fit Hybrid and the Japanese domestic market STEPWGN. Of more interest than the hybrids should be the Sports Modulo NSX, which is fitted with a range of accessories scheduled to go on sale at the end of May.

Also on display will be a variety of Honda motorcycles as well as a number of race cars including the HSV-010 GT, which won both the driver and team titles for the Super GT Series GT500-class races, and 2011 Indy Japan 300 mascot car.

The Tokyo Auto Salon attracts both major automakers and the big names in the aftermarket scene, similar to SEMA.
