Honda to Offer Payment Protection and Spring Discounts

Hyundai's initiative of offering a type of payment protection to its customers seems to have set a trend amidst car manufacturers all over the world. After it caught on in the US, the payment protection program, regardless of its type, expands to the UK as well.

Honda has announced a new package of car offers which includes a free payment protection against redundancy. The program is available for all promoted Civics and CR-Vs purchased on Honda finance from  April 1, and consists of covering the monthly car repayments for up to a year, if the customer is unemployed for at least three months.

In addition, the manufacturer's spring promotion also offers on-the-road (OTR) cost savings and a range of first-rate finance packages, including 0 percent APR (annual percentage rate) Hire Purchase or low deposit and low monthly payment PCPs (personal contract purchases) at 4.9 percent APR.

The reduced prices for the selected models makes a 2008 Civic 1.8l SE with leather be available for 14,495 pounds OTR (a 1,520 pounds discount), while the 2.2l diesel counterpart is offered at 14,995 pounds OTR (2,295 pounds lower).

Leasing a Civic Type R GT can be done for 199 pounds/month at 0 percent APR, while the CR-V range, powered by the i-CTDi diesel engine, now starts at 17,995 pounds, offering a saving of up to 3,100 pounds.

“We know that people still want to buy new cars. But everyone’s a bit nervous at the moment about making such a significant purchase. Our package of cost savings, financial offers and the security of payment protection is one of the strongest we’ve ever offered and should help our customers feel more confident about buying a Honda,” Tom Gardner, Honda UK marketing head said in a release.
