Honda has dropped the full details about their 2013 model year Civic range. The Civic is an almost brand new car, having been unveiled at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show. In 18 months on the market, Honda has received strong criticism, regarding the bland looks, the poor quality of the interior and even the new car smell.
Hopefully, fans of the Civic will be a little bit happier with the look of the car, and we actually think it’s a good change. The new grille makes the Civic look like its big brother, the Accord. It now has a much more sculpted hood, clear-lens corner lights, new trunk lid and rear bumper. The bad news is the Civic Coupe remains almost untouched for the next model year.

Further improvements have been made to the chassis as well, since they’ve upgraded the suspension, brakes, steering system, but the most noticeable change will be the soundproofing.

The interior features a new dashboard that features soft touch material. The air vents have been redesigned, and there are more chrome touches. When the commercials start airing, safety and equipment will probably be the main selling point of the 2013 Civic, which now features a reinforced passenger compartment and SmartVent side airbags, as well as systems like Forward Collision Warning and a Lane Departure Warning.

Also new to the Civic is the multi-view rearview camera integrated into the navigation system. It also gets much needed upgrades, like Bluetooth, Pandora and USB/iPod connectivity.

The 2013 Civic is already available for $18,165 for the LX Sedan, with the range to be completed by February 2013 with the Civic HF.
