Honda Motor Co. have announced that they will be recalling around 50,000 of their 2012 model-year Civics, sold in the US, due to possible issue with the drive shaft mechanism which may induce a loss of engine power.
Officials say that the cars in question will be recalled and the faulty components will be replaced where necessary, thus fixing the issue. Another issue caused by the faulty drive shaft is the fact that the car could roll away on inclines, even when left in ‘Park’, however, no related crashes or injuries have yet to be reported, so Honda have made the recall just in time.

So, if you have a 2012 model-year Civic, and you live in the US, expect an invitation to your local Honda dealer for a free verification, if necessary, a replacement part to be installed.
