Honda CR-Z Mugen RR Edition Breakes Cover

A totally hot appearance at the Goodwood festival of speed was the Honda RR Edition, which was an instant success catching the spectators totally unprepared. The RR variant is based on the MUGEN CR-Z concept. Spectators and spies were unaware about Honda’s prototype for a more race-focused model MUGEN CR-Z Concept RR.

Honda CR-Z MUGEN RR Concept attaching the “RR” logo to its name, which represents MUGEN racing spirit, and the car needs to be regarded as totally different from CR-Z. Making the the most use of the supercharger and IMA system, MUGEN enables the output characteristic to give flat power and torque curves throughout the rpm range to improve drivability on any streets and contribute to fuel efficiency.

Weight-saving is also challenged in order to improve handling and acceleration performance. Along with the modifications mentioned above, MUGEN decided on the adoption of carbon composites for the bonnet and doors, the removal of the rear seats, and a conversion to full bucket seats .

What stands out when we look at the splendid exterior of the Honda RR Edition is the high rear wing. It also has a stylish and sleek body kit that gives it a race look that is completed by the aero bumper, front aero fenders, side spoilers, rear aero bumper and specially developed 18-inch wheels. The specs of the sibling car may be close to the MUGEN CR-Z.

The CR-Z design concept car features a supercharged 1.5-liter engine and an IMA hybrid system giving a total output of 200 PS (147 kW /197hp) and 181 lb-ft (245 Nm) of torque.It can hit 60mph (96km/h) in aproximatly 6.6 seconds. A rise in power output is expected when Honda brings more details about its RR edition.
