With a stylish tailpipe in the middle, a sculpted rear hatch and large diameter wheels, you'd be forgiven for thinking this is Honda's teaser of the warmer version of the European Civic hatchback. But in fact, it's not.
In fact, it's a teaser sketch for a Civic Wagon concept model that is scheduled to make its first appearance at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show in March, together with an updated version of the NSX Concept, featuring a full interior like the concept shown last month in Detroit.
Getting back to the Civic, as you might have already noticed, wagons make up a fair share of the European C-segment market. Top contenders include the VW Golf Variant, the Focus Estate and recently launched Kia and Hyundai models.
Honda says this concept is there to provide styling cues for the production model which will debut in the next year or so. Hopefully, Honda figures out the all-important diesel range, essential for any practical car sold in Europe.
Speaking of diesel, the Geneva Motor Show will also see the debut of the first Honda CR-V compact crossover that's powered by the company's new 1.6-liter i-DTEC turbodiesel engine, the same.
