If you ever missed or ran after a train or a bus, you will be happy to know that it can happen to conductors, as well. Take this desperate man for example.
This hilarious incident happened in Bucharest, Romania and saw the poor conductor on the train being left behind on the platform by a rather inattentive engine driver, who failed to check the platform to see if there was anyone else on it. The video at the bottom of the page shows him desperately trying to flag the driver, to alert him that he’s about to pull out of the station without him.
The video was shot by the amused passengers inside. The louder the conductor yells and blows his whistle, the louder they laugh. The man even tries to bang on one of the doors, but it doesn’t open.
The good news is that the conductor’s trouble was short-lived. The Daily Mail says that “the train driver spotted what had happened and stopped the train to allow the staff member back on.” “The train was traveling between the capital, Bucharest, and the southern Romanian city Targoviste,” adds the same publication.
One explanation for the passenger’s mirth is that train conductors are often referred to as “the godfather” in Romania, especially by commuters who ride the train without valid tickets. Without over-generalizing, they’re not exactly known for being nice or mild mannered, or even polite.
Without saying this man was also like that, it does seem like passengers saw his predicament as some sort of (twisted) divine justice.
Another engine driver that recently got the Internet in stitches is the British dude who tried for half an hour to shoo a couple of swans and 2 chicks from the tracks, so his train could pass. He failed, much to the amusement of passers-by and drivers waiting at a nearby level crossing.
