Samsung Galaxy S24 is the best the world's number one phone maker can offer today, so you can't blame customers for expecting a flawless experience. After all, they paid over $1,000 for the Ultra model, so everything should be top-notch on every front.
However, early buyers have already discovered the first major problem, and unsurprisingly, it impacts the Android Auto experience.

Users claim their shiny new Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra can't run Android Auto wirelessly despite a correct connection between the phone and the head unit. The device can run Android Auto with a cord, so the app is properly configured, and the initial setup is completed, but once the cord is removed, the application shuts down.

Galaxy S24 buyers claim they've tried the generic workarounds to restore Android Auto, including several resets, pairing, and unpairing, but nothing fixes the wireless connection. The only workaround is to run Android Auto with a cable.

All users struggling with a wireless connection in their car with a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra claim everything worked correctly before upgrading to the latest-generation smartphone. Most owned other Samsung Galaxy S models, and running Android Auto wirelessly worked as expected, with no issues when disconnecting the cable from the device.

If you're a long-time Android Auto user with a Samsung phone, you probably remember that such issues are common for new-generation devices launched by the South Korean firm. Every time it launches a new Galaxy S phone, users end up struggling with Android Auto. The same thing happened when the company released the Galaxy S22 series and happened again when the Galaxy S23 came out.

The Galaxy S24 is no exception, though the bugs seem to only plague the wireless connection.

One of our readers and an early Samsung Galaxy S24 buyer told me that running Android Auto without a cord works correctly when they use an adapter. Wireless Android Auto adapters convert the connection mode from wired to wireless, though they are aimed at vehicles where the manufacturer doesn't offer Android Auto wireless built-in. For some reason, the Galaxy S24 can't connect wirelessly directly to the head unit.

A Google Community Specialist has already chimed in and asked for additional information about the bug. However, based on what happened when the previous-generation models came out, Android and Android Auto are not the culprits. The issue resides in Samsung's software, and unless the phone maker ships a patch, it's safe to assume the connection problems will persist.

Samsung has remained tight-lipped on the reported Android Auto errors, and it's still too early to tell if everybody is impacted. However, more buyers will receive the S24 this week, so it won't take long before we get a clearer picture of how widespread the bug is.
