When Chevrolet decided to let the sixth-gen Camaro borrow the engine line-up of the C7 Corvette, the carmaker also made aftermarket developers a huge favor, facilitating their gym work. As such, with 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 having reached its first owners last week, the aftermarket programs are already starting to land.
We recently showed you a Zl1 that had been massaged to over 750 ponies, with the feat being celebrated using the mandatory burnout. And we're now back on the topic to talk about what Hennessey Performance has done for the factory supercharged Camaro.

These days, aficionados enjoy dipping in tons of upgrades, which is why the Texan developer offers five choices for those who want their ZL1s to be even more muscular.

The aftermarket adventure kicks off with a pack consisting of an intake and tune, which delivers a gain of 35 hp and 50 lb-ft at the rear wheels.

From this point on, the upgrades are labeled in the typical Hennessey manner, meaning that they wear the numerical tags of the approximate crank hp they deliver.

As such, we have the HPE750, which includes a pulley upgrade, a high-flow air intake, as well as stainless steel exhaust system work consisting of long-tube headers, mid pipes and high-flow catalytic converters, along with Hennessey engine management calibration.

If you're a fan of rounded numbers, the HPE 800 kit keeps the goodies mentioned above, adding a lower pulley upgrade, high-flow cylinder heads, updated valve springs and lifters, as well as a custom camshaft.

The HPE850 package is where the custom fun truly begins, as this involves a high-flow supercharger, an air-to-air intercooler, and a special air filter. Delivering a meaty 854 hp and 715 lb-ft, the system promises to offer a 0 to 60 time of 2.6 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 10.3 seconds.

Since these numbers can easily spark a debate, the company mentions the conditions that led to them: "Acceleration performance figures are based on ideal conditions with an experienced driver on a prepped ¼ mile dragstrip running on drag radial rear tires,"

Hennessey's 2017 Camaro ZL1 range-topper is the hypercar-hunting 1,000-pony pack mentioned in the title above, which sees the high-flow blower being able to deliver extra boost thanks to a sweet list of supporting mods. This includes forged pistons and steel rods, ported cylinder heads, an upgraded fuel system (injectors included), as well as a high-flow intercooler and heat exchanger update.

Until we get to see these kits in action, we've added a video showing Hennessey's 0-173 MPH run in the factory stock car below. Happy Hooning!
