For muscle car fans, this is an awesome time to have a driver's license, with the high-horsepower war being more vicious than ever. And we are now here to bring you the latest fight in this war, one that involves eight doors.
We're dealing with two of the most infamous sedans you can currently find in a showroom, namely a 2016 Cadillac CTS-V and a 2015 Dodge Charger Hellcat - thankfully for the emotional side of our brain, this isn't yet another drag racing video that sees a Tesla driver raising his hands while his Model S P100D delivers a 10s 1,320 feet run almost on its own.

This isn't even a 1/4-mile run, with the two super-sedans engaging in a half-mile brawl instead. While we at it, we have to explain we're thrilled by the longer run, as plenty of quarter-mile fights leave us wondering what could've happened had the participants carried on accelerating.

If we go past the Hellcat's headline-worthy power figure and focus on the big picture, these two four-doors are close in terms of on-paper racing. For instance, while the Mopar machine comes with a power-to-weight ratio of 3 kg per PS, the Caddy is just 0.1 kg behind.

To put things another way, the 707-pony Charger tips the scales at a meaty 4,575 lbs, while the 640 hp CTS-V weighs in at 4,134 lbs.

The same tight fight conclusion can be drawn when it comes to the torque area, where the Hellcat's 650 lb-ft (881 Nm) battles the V model's 630 lb-ft (854 Nm).

Keep in mind the numbers above are 100 percent accurate for this battle, as both machines seen here come in factory stock condition.

Tranny details? Both GM and Fiat Chrysler have gifted their supercharged 6.2-liter V8 sedans with eight-speed autos (only the Dodge Challenger can also be ordered with a six-speed manual, though).

And since we mentioned the action-packed nature of this video above, perhaps it's best to also... check out the surroundings of the two sedans, especially at the starting line.
