The Garmin HUD uses a Bluetooth connection and works with your smartphone that has to support Garmin Street Pilot 1 or the Navigon app. The phone then transmits coordinates to the device that in turn shows them in an HUD-like manner right in your field of vision.
Furthermore, the driver is also aided by turn by turn spoken directions, thanks to the apps on the smartphone so that you further avoid distractions.
