Hamilton's C63 AMG Up for Sale?

The Australian Grand Prix has truly provided an interesting experience to the people at McLaren Mercedes, as each day was full of incidents in Melbourne. Aside from their first win of the season, probably the most discussed topic in the media this weekend was Lewis Hamilton's encounter with the Victorian police, after doing some burnouts in his silver Mercedes C63 AMG.

While “having some fun” on the streets of Melbourne, the 2008 F1 champion was pulled over by the police and handed a fine for his actions, while also having his expensive car confiscated for 48 hours. Although apologizing for the incident, Ham was branded as a “d**khead” by the local roads minister, especially since it all happened some days later after the FIA launched a new road safe campaign.

The interesting thing about Hamilton's mishappening was that Australian customers, probably Hamilton or McLaren fans, have already put in “more than half a dozen” offers for the $150,000 car. This was confirmed by a very Mercedes-Benz Australia spokesman.

While McLaren have already paid the necessary fee to have the car back from the Aussie police, it is yet to be confirmed whether the machine will be put up for sale.

Meanwhile, Hamilton admitted he made a mistake criticizing the team for their strategy choice on Sunday, and insisted he wants to forget all about this weekend's Australian GP and move on to the upcoming Malaysian race.

It was an interesting weekend. I am glad to be back in Malaysia and to be having a bit of space. It wasn't a great few days in Australia,” said Hamilton, according to the Daily Mail.
