H-D Launches New Mirrors with Flashing LED Police Lamps

American motorcycle manufacture Harley-Davdson has just announced the release of new flashing LED police mirrors, offering customers the possibility to choose between any combination of red and blue LED lamps that act as a fast-acting emergency light when the pursuit lamps are activated.

“These forged true vision mirrors give you a wide viewing area with the functional addition of forward-facing eye-level emergency lighting designed to command the attention of oncoming motorists,”
a company statement reads.

According to Harley-Davidson, these new mirrors are designed to fit all Police vehicle models from ’97 – present with Original Equipment pursuit lamps or XL Police models with Pursuit Lamp Kit.

The wiring for the new mirrors can be easily connected to the Original Equipment wiring and are seamlessly concealed in the housing and stem. Installation on models equipped with H-D Extended
Lens LED Pursuit Lamps or Engine Guard LED Light Kit requires the separate purchase of Wiring Interface Adaptor.

In addition, the company has also announced it is giving customers the chance to test ride a Harley-Davidson Police motorcycle now through June 30, 2011 for a chance to win free class tuition to a Northwestern University Center for Public Safety Police Operator or Instructor course.

However, for more details regarding the Police Demo Test Ride event and the new flashing LED police mirrors, enthusiasts are invited to contact their area Harley-Davidson dealership.

All U.S Law Enforcement Agencies that complete a Police Motorcycle Demo Ride at their local Harley-Davidson Dealer and complete the survey on this website will be entered in a drawing for their Agency to receive a full tuition Operator or Instructor Training Class of their choice during 2011 or 2012. Two winners will be drawn to receive 2 paid tuitions.
