GTbyCitroen on the Streets of London

The long-talked about, game-inspired GTbyCitroen can now be seen on the streets of London, as part of an attempt to recreate the "street circuit" featured in the Gran Turismo driving game for Playstation 3.

The GTbyCitroen could have been seen cruising down Regent Street, rounded Trafalgar Square and cruised down the Mall past Buckingham Palace. Unfortunately, no other racers were around, so no actual Gran Turismo reenactment was set up...

The car has remained virtually unchanged since it debut, as a concept, at the Paris Motor Show last October. To remind you a bit, the concept is now a show car. It showcased its 4.96m long and 1.09m high silhouette at several events this year, including the Nürburgring and Le Mans 24 hour endurance races.

GTbyCitroen's most striking feature is the large wraparound windscreen which flows into the roof and on into the rear mobile airfoil. Large air intakes, a flat underside, rear air-diffuser, clear-cut horizontal headlamps, gull-wing doors and diamond-effect 21 inch aluminum wheels are also fitted on the car.

Citroen will take the GT at the UK Festival of Speed, set to take place in between July 3 and 5. There, the concept will be put on display until the very last day of the event. On July 5, the GTbyCitroen will climb the Goodwood Hill as part of the Sunday Times Supercar Run.

As for a possible production run of the GTbyCitroen, nothing is yet decided. Some rumors do say the project will enter a very-limited run of only 20 units. "We are now thinking of a limited run, possibly as many as 20 units," Vincent Besson, Citroen's head said in April.
