The Grand Theft Auto VI trailer broke YouTube records after 24 hours, and recently, it destroyed another one. At the time of writing, it's sitting at 169,590,585 views, surpassing the previous No. 2 video game trailer spot held by Minecraft with 167,853,976. You'll never guess who's at the top of the list.
The kicker is that Minecraft had the number two position secured because the trailer launched on December 6, 2011, more than 12 years ago. The GTA 6 trailer launched on December 5, 2023, meaning it overtook Minecraft in just a month and a half. Let's meet again in 10 years and see how many views the trailer will have then.

My suspicion is that these numbers will blow up every time Rockstar Games releases a new trailer. People will most definitely see them back to back as soon as fresh ones arrive.

Now about that number one spot regarding the most watched video game trailer of all time... ready for it? It's the Subway Surfers trailer from the Google Play Store. First released on September 18, 2012, it's closing in on 12 years as well in 2024. At the moment, it's at 361,506,931 views. GTA 6 is not even halfway there yet, but give it enough time; it could even overtake this one as well.

While Rockstar's latest creation is wreaking havoc on YouTube, GTA Online is still ripe with fresh content almost every week. This time, it's all about double rewards, cars and towing trucks.

To use tow trucks, you'll, of course, need to buy one for your Salvage Yard. If you're a GTA+ member, you get 40% off. After you're all set, go to the menu and select Tow Truck Service. If you do a good job, you'll get double rewards until January 24.

Another surprise announcement that wasn't all that mind-blowing came from Rockstar's blog regarding old-gen consoles like the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The developers are removing Rockstar Editor, including any Clips or Projects.

To save your projects and clips until February 20, you have to go into GTA Online, access Rockstar Editor, select Video Gallery, and the Project you want to export. Then click "Upload to YouTube," confirm, and you're golden. Oh, it goes without saying that you need to have a YouTube account linked to your Rockstar Games account for this to work.

PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC players are safe from this doomsday event. Given that players are migrating more and more to the new-gen consoles, this isn't what you would call a "shocking twist of events."

There are more than 50 million PS5s out in the wild and with the recent Grand Theft Auto VI on current-gen only announcement, it makes sense that people are migrating to the new platforms more and more.
