The Green GT is one of the vehicles that is aiming to change racing forever, turning it into a cleaner activity. We are talking about an electric-powered race car that follows FIA specifications.
The vehicle was unveiled on December 3 at the Ecole Polytechnique de Lausanne by the Swiss company Greent GT, which is based in Le-Mont-sur-Lausane. The vehicle was presented to FIA president Jean Todt. We have to mention that the carmaker already comes with a reputation, as it is the developer of the electric drive system used by the Citroen Survolt.
Now, the eco racer has received a new marketing initiative, as the company is offering us this video that shows its creation process.
The vehicle is powered by two electric motors that develops around 450-500 hp with an enormous torque of 2,400 Nm. The unit, which works with a proprietary gearbox assembly, only has to move around 980 kg (2,160 lbs), as the car comes with a FIA-homologated carbon composite chassis and a carbon fiber body.
The car draws its energy from a double Lithium-Ion-Polymer battery that has been developed specifically for it. In addition to that, the vehicle also comes with a set of solar panels that are used to power its auxiliary systems, such as the electronics.
Here’s how the company is describing the vehicle: “The Greent GT is a carbon frame prototype the previews the endurance race car of tomorrow. Developed and produced in Switzerland, the GreenGT shows that electric cars can offer the same level of performance as the one using internal combustion engines.”
