The all-new GoPro Hero4 Session is engineered on the success of the Hero4 Black and Hero4 Silver editions, and this means that it will provide the same excellent image features, but in a much smaller package.
The Hero4 Session can record 1080p60, 720p100 and 1440p30 video and 8-megapixel photos. Dead-simple to use, the Hero4 Session will start recording video at the press of a button. Keep that button pressed and it will start taking time lapse photos, while a third press of the button saves the session and shuts off the camera.
Some of the features of the Hero4 Black are integrated in the Session
Hero4 Black SuperView Protune and Auto Low Light recording modes have been imported into the Session, as well as the Single and Burst photo modes. The Hero4 Session is also equipped with a Dual Mic system that records enhanced audio in high wind or water scenarios.
The Hero4 Session is completely waterproof to 33 feet (10 m) without an additional enclosure. And because it is compatible with the existing range of GoPro accessories, it allows users to experiment with new, more creative mounting solutions, video angles, and image construction options.
Built-in Bluetooth and WiFi, plus auto image rotation
Users can control the Hero4 Session with their smartphones using the dedicated GoPro app or via the special remote. The camera also includes an auto image rotation feature that correct the image orientation during recording.
The Hero4 Session is also delivered with standard and low-profile frame mounts, as well as a new ball joint buckle mount. This camera will become available in stores starting with the 12th of July and cost $400 (€362). More tech specs, such as the battery life and recharging times, are expected upon the launch.
