While Pontiac may no longer be 'among us', having been killed off in 2010, we still get news about some of their products, even if they are bad ones. GM has announced the recall of 40,859 Pontiac G5s and Torrents as well Chevrolet Cobalts and Equinoxes due to a potential fuel leak, caused by a common plastic part which is prone to cracking.
The affected cars’s model year is between 2007 and 2009, yet not all cars manufactured present the issue, apparently. The recall only affects vehicles registered in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada and Texas, all of which are states with very high temperatures year-round. Owners from Arkansas and Oklahoma are also included in the recall, but only for the Pontiac G5.
GM actually states that the issue primarily occurs in warm weather states, yet there have been no reported injuries or accidents caused by the faulty part, which will be replaced free of charge.
