Earlier today, we wrote about a massive General Motors recall campaign that will see the company recall 426,240 cars, due to a roll-away risk caused by a transmission issue and now it is time for a new GM recall.
This time, the campaign affects 4,716 units of the Chevrolet Sonic, which will be recalled due to faulty turn signals. The cars were built between May 29, 2012 and August 29, 2012.

"When a turn signal lamp fails to operate, the Body Control Module in these vehicles does not detect this condition and will not indicate the condition to the driver," said NHTSA in its recalls summary of the problem.
"If the driver is not aware that the turn signal is not functioning and does not have the light repaired, other drivers may not be alerted that the vehicle is turning, increasing the risk of a crash."

Chevy dealers will reprogram the Body Control Module, as well as the vehicles’ key fobs, with the recall set to debut on October 3. You can contact Chevrolet at (866) 694-6546.
