GM Considering GMC Sierra All Terrain HD Concept Production

One of the vehicles that really made our (press) day at this year’s edition of the Detroit Auto Show is the GMC Sierra All Terrain HD Concept. But what if this automotive dream could become a reality? What if GM decided to build the monster?

It seems like the company is considering bringing the vehicle to our world, but nothing certain can be said for the time being, as revealed in a PickupTrucks.com interview with designer Carl Zipfel. We’ll have to wait and see if executives decided to give the green light to the project.

Meanwhile, we’d give you the worst case scenario: in a few years, we’ll get the color and exterior trim finish of the vehicle. We are talking about the Iridium Metallic coat and the dark anodized satin finish around the windows.

Here’s how the company describes the special exterior coat: “a dark charcoal color that reveals a reddish, anodized inflection when viewed from certain angles. It complements other anodized and satin-metal finishes on the exterior, which give the truck a more precise and functional appearance.

We’ll remind you that the concept is powered on a 6.6 liter Duramax diesel V8 unit that delivers 397 hp and 765 lb-ft of torque (1037 Nm), allowing the driver to go anywhere and tow anything he likes. This is also because the power is delivered through a six-speed automatic gearbox to all four wheels and reaches the ground via 20-inch 8-lug wheels that use 35-inch BFGoodrich KM2 off-roading tires.
