The global recession has been affecting automotive sales for the past five years. However, some companies, especially supercar specialists, couldn't care less about the world crisis.
Lamborghini is one of those automakers that manage to flourish since the recession started harassing the automotive world, as their recently published 2012 financial results show.
With 2,083 cars delivered last year, the Italian-based carmaker posted a 30 percent increase compared to 2011, when they had 1,602 grinning customers. Furthermore, the company's turnover has increased by 46 percent, from EUR 322 million in 2011 to EUR 469 million in 2012.
Lamborghini sold 1,161 Gallardo models and 922 Aventadors last years, with 35 percent of them going to Asia, followed by 29 percent in Europe and 28 percent in America. The remaining 8 percent were ordered by customers from the Middle East and South Africa.
"In spite of ongoing worldwide financial and economic uncertainties, Lamborghini has delivered a very satisfying performance in 2012, confirming the strength of our product and commercial strategy. We will continue to invest in the development of our product range to address further growth in the future," said Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A.
