Battery packs of insufficient capacity are the main downside of owning and driving an EV nowadays, mainly due to the fact that advanced battery technology, which would allow the storage of more electricity in the same volume as today’s batteries, is simply to expensive to be financially viable for the large automakers.
However, a simple work-around would be hitching a trailer full of battery to the back of your EV, connecting it up to your car and off you would go. The idea has been put into practice in Germany, by a company called eBuggy, and it genuinely seems to work.

It offers a reported four hours of extra highway driving, and eliminates the range anxiety usually associated with taking long journeys in an EV. The company, which is heavily backed by the German government, will soon begin network trials, before finally becoming available to the public.
