After Lithium-Air, now the discussion topic are Zinc-Air batteries, which while not widely used or acknowledged as a solution, are apparently one of the better alternatives currently out there.
After having secured considerable funding for their research, a company called Eos Energy, will not be putting their Zinc-Air batteries straight into EVs, as they say the technology is better suited for more ‘static’ applications - at least for now.

These batteries also reportedly last for over 2,000 charge/recharge cycles with no loss. Another advantage of this particular technology is the low price associated with zinc, as opposed to the more expensive and rarer lithium, while offering similar performance.

According to Eos Energy, a 70 kWh battery would cost around €9,000 ($11,000). Considering the fact that as the technology is adopted and adapted for various uses, its price will go down, and to us, it seems one of the more viable options for future EVs.
