Put it in a note: a very smart and creative driver may have just invented the best traffic hack ever. His idea is so good that it even allows him to get around quickly in the busy Los Angeles traffic, while also putting a smile on other motorists’ faces.
The video available at the bottom of the page was captured last week in Culver City by driver Allison Klemes. She posted it to YouTube to show the world what a driver with an IQ of about 300,000 does for successful lane merging. And, unlike other outstanding stories about lane merging, this one doesn’t involve road rage, illegal weapons and car crashes.

To be able to merge lanes in the city of angels, all you need is, apparently, a bunch of homemade signs with polite messages. This Lexus driver is onto something: he’s signaling a turn but he’s also holding out his hand. Allison zooms in for the obvious reason: she can’t believe her eyes, the sign actually reads “Please let me in.”

Naturally, she does just that. As the Lexus driver prepares to switch lanes, he holds out another sign that reads “Thanks.” See, you can catch more flies with honey.

“saw this man with a 300000 IQ switching lanes, thanks for enjoying the little things with me!” Allison writes in the caption of the video, which has already attained near-viral status after being picked up by most U.S. media outlets.

And here’s the best part: if you look closely, you will notice that, to get to the “Thanks” sign, the dude actually shuffles a bunch of them. In other words, he’s prepared for all scenarios possible in heavy traffic and clearly determined to overcome the obstacles with kind, polite words. If that’s not genius, we don’t know what is.
