Bring the summer and don’t forget to also pack the power! The Camaro convertible has hit the Old Continent, with Chevrolet holding the European premiere of the vehicle at the Geneva Auto Show.

Well, the vehicle’s launch schedule isn’t quite right, as the topless pony car, together with the coupe version, will reach showrooms across Europe in September. But wait, this means that we can have a summer afterparty, so it’s all good!

Here;s one from GM: “The structural changes to the Chevrolet Camaro convertible body give it superior bending and torsional stiffness than its closest competitor, and better torsional stiffness than the BMW 3-Series convertible.” What can we say? we’ll have to drive it to believe it.

The party will be fueled by a 6.2-liter, naturally aspirated V8 unit that develops over 400 hp. The exact specs haven’t been published yet, but we can tell you that the US version of the car comes with two 6.2-liter V8 engine, the L99 for the automatic gearbox vehicles and the LS3 for manual transmission ones. While the L99 produces 400 hp and 410 lb-ft (556 Nm)m the LSE comes with 426 hp and 420 l-ft (569 Nm).

The Chevrolet Camaro convertible delivers great refinement, along with uncompromising, coupe-like driving dynamics. Its enhanced body structure helps prevent cowl or steering wheel shake, for a strong, confident feel in all driving conditions. The top has a smooth, tailored fit, with acoustical foam in the headliner that helps deliver a quiet ride with the top up,” stated the press release.
