A 12-year partnership cannot simply end just like that, at least not when we're talking about the partnership between the French Police and Yamaha.
Despite BMW's successful takeover on the French law Enforcement and Authorities market, Yamaha will simply not pack things and run to mommy. It seems that the TDM 900 have done a god job during the last years, and the French cops really like the bike.
An existing agreement has been re-signed, and Yamaha will keep on supplying bikes for the police, equipped with sirens, strobe lights and all. So far there is no info on the power specs, top speed or number of bikes to be delivered, but such data is expected to surface rather soon.
The new Yamaha TDM 900 will complement the existing TDM ranks and the FJR1300 fleet.
