As far as spectacular stunts go, this is one of the most daring ones we`ve ever had the chance to see. MINI has called on French daredevil and all-round brave person, Guerlain Chicherit, to try and do the first ever documented unassisted 360° backflip in an automobile of any sort.
The vehicle chosen is a specially-modified MINI Countryman S JCW, which gets raised suspension, bigger wheels and tires, a roll cage and judging by the sound, an open exhaust and more power than the car’s standard output of 218 hp and 300 Nm.

Chicherit floors the specially-prepared MINI, and launches the car off a specially-designed ramp, nearly 12 meters in the air (calculated relatively accurately by looking at the shipping containers in the background). However, the video only shows the first part of the run, yet it does not show the landing.

We say that judging by the high production values at play here, and the sheer expertise of some people in this particular field of stunt driving, the Countryman most likely landed exactly where they were expecting it to... Still, once the full video is available, it will be something to watch, and then re-watch, in HD and slow motion.
